Things to do in Italy > Passeier Valley

Going to lakes in Passiria.

Where: moso-in-passiria/moos-in-passeier
(Lago Erensee.)
Genre: nature   wine and food   fun

In the Tessa National Park, at 1628 m, in the valley dotted with farms and barns, we find the village of Plan. From here you can hike the path that leads to Lake Erensee at 2300 m. The street no. 4 begins by advancing into the larch and fir forest climbing in rather steep steps. For those wishing to save the first 200 m of altitude difference, they can take advantage of the Grunboden cable car. Once out of the wood, the straight line of the slope lowers and the path becomes grassy, reaching an altitude of 1871 m near the Faltschall hut. Continue with the path no. 7 which crosses the stream with a beautiful bridge and runs alongside the sweet grazing cows, among spontaneous plants of azaleas and blue impatiens. The final stretch, very steep, hides the basin where the clear water lake is located, an invisible mirror of the clouds. The plateau welcomes hikers with a stony stretch until path no. 4 which goes down to Malga Lazins. The panoramic terrace invites you to take a break and taste the typical Kaiserschmarrn dessert, or cranberry omelette.
