The delicacies of the Island of Elba

The Island of Elba is one of the most visited places in Italy thanks to its natural beauty. However, not everyone knows the gastronomic delicacies that most of them come from its splendid sea. The undisputed queen of Elban cuisine is certainly the anchovy which is used for the preparation of many dishes. In fact, this fish can be marinated with onions, cooked in a pan and fried in oil or butter. The octopus is also very good, the tastiest part of which are the tentacles that can be eaten boiled. Typical sweets of the island are the Schiaccia Briaca and the Torta di Ceci. Local product is also the Panficato dell'Elba which has sparked a rivalry between villagers with the version of the Giglio Island to decide which of the two is the best. Then you can't miss the Mussels all'Elbana (which we recommend to eat by dipping the bread in the broth) and the Stockfish. Try the hot cheese schiacciata and the mixed fried fish. As in every table in Italy, even on the Island of Elba you cannot miss the pasta that is eaten here in three versions: with sconcigli, with seafood or with spider crab.
