Recco is a town in the province of Genoa that rises on a small bay in the Golfo Paradiso. Devastated by the bombings of the Second World War, after the reconstruction it has become an important tourist destination. Very suggestive are the patronal feasts such as that of Nostra Signora del Suffragio with the Fire Festival which is celebrated on 8 September and which animates the streets of the center between religious celebrations and fireworks. Famous are the Sparate dei Mascoli with hundreds of firecrackers that are detonated at different times of the day showing a truly unmissable spectacle of sparks and roars. At sunset on 8 September, the ark of Our Lady of Suffrage is accompanied through the streets of the town in a solemn procession with the parade of the crucifixes of the brotherhoods. During this festival a sort of symbiosis is created between the visitors and the inhabitants of Recco. There is no shortage of moments related to gastronomy with numerous stands that are built in the various districts of the town and where typical local products are served such as focaccia with cheese. Recco is also a very popular holiday destination thanks to the beauty of its sea and its proximity to Portofino. Come to Recco and you will never want to leave.
