(Porto San Giorgio.)
Genre: events    culture   nature   wine and food   fun

Located on the Fermano coast and on the slopes of the Sibillini Mountains, the village extends along the 4 km of coast, blue flag for the quality of water and services and green flag for facilities suitable for children. Born in Roman times as Castrum Firmanorum, it gained municipal autonomy only in 1860, establishing itself in the maritime and agricultural sector. The port, which hosts a thousand mooring positions, still has a well-functioning navy and fishermen's boxes for the purchase and sale of fresh fish. The presence of many eighteenth-century villas both on the hills, where they are surrounded by splendid gardens, and on the waterfront, in Art Nouveau style, are the sign of the historical productivity of the Municipality. Strolling through the village you can visit the Rocca Tiepolo, dating back to 1267, built by the Governor to defend against attacks from the sea and the Church of San Giorgio, with a beautiful access staircase, rebuilt in 1803. If you are a lover of representations, you will have the opportunity to attend the Municipal Theater designed by Lucarelli, with the vault frescoed by Sigismondo Nardi. In summer, events and parties are organized, for evening entertainment, along the internal streets of the seafront, warmed by the thousand candles of the cafes.
