We are in Liguria, in Vallebona, in the province of Imperia. It is the main town of the Rio Borghetto valley, located on a slope, it preserves the typical architecture of stone houses and the network of alleys and squares. Surrounded by terraces where there is a strong cultivation of brooms, mimosas, olive trees and vineyards. Mount Nero stands above it. The village has medieval origins, thanks to the fertile soil that also gave it its name. The two main religious structures are the masters, the Parish Church of San Lorenzo, in the historic center, dating back to the thirteenth century, where the sixteenth-century painting by Giulio De Rossi is preserved, and adjacent we find the oratory of the Nativity of Mary, designed in Baroque style by Andrea Notaru, where there are preserved two paintings dedicated to the Madonna, made at the end of 1700. The city is characterized by arcades and covered passages typical of the villages of Imperia. Very suitable for those who want to spend relaxing days at the beach, or for those who love hiking, because it is dotted with paths that connect all the neighboring villages. Very characteristic is the Ape in Fiore event that takes place every year in summer, where the decorated vehicles are on display and become real artistic installations.
