In the reign of King Bocco.

A document dated 1113 attests the existence of the carnival at the castle of Bocchi. Here yokels and gentlemen dressed up to celebrate the goliardic and democratic party where, for a few days, social differences were suspended. This surreal spirit is projected up to our days, when imaginary figures, as if born from the desire of a capricious queen, pose in the streets of the Borgo. The living arrangements are listed on the map available at the reception points. We play with the masks, observe them and evaluate them by voting for them in the urn placed at the end of the course. The parade with about two hundred participants walks preceded by folkloric music, restoring the historicity of the event. The rite of pasta is repeated in the evening, as per tradition, in the large pots once used for cooking vegetables. Among the medieval houses and the guard towers of the Castle, the masks stage themselves, non-existent, imaginary, evoked in the most beautiful dreams. The award ceremony is followed by fireworks, which spin colored flames in the night sky like the fabrics of the clothes and the make-up that conceals, the dark identity.
