The hilly promontory opens like an amphitheater near the sea, where you can visit the area with Carthaginian and Roman buildings. Before the entrance, a Byzantine church welcomes us with its beautiful façade divided into semi-arches. The square body and the Dome date back to the 6th century and are made up of very large blocks of stone, amazing for their regularity of size. The area can be visited freely but it is advisable to take advantage of the free guide, which must be booked. The site extends on the eastern slope of Colle San Giovanni and on the hill of Murru and is made up of Punic houses, rebuilt in the imperial era by the Romans. Consisting of regular blocks of sandstone, they were paved with beaten earth, equipped with basins for collecting water and covered with slabs. The sewers that conveyed waste water to the sea and the paving of the streets date back to Roman times. At the highest point of the hill you can visit Nuragic ruins with a circular imprint and a frame to a central structure, dating back to the Bronze Age.
