Visit Ischia

Ischia is an island located off the Gulf of Naples; it is easily connected to it by continuous ferries and hydrofoils. Extending 46 square kilometers, it has 19,000 inhabitants and is administratively divided into six municipalities. The municipality of Ischia is divided into two nuclei: Ischia Porto and Ischia Ponte. The first develops around the port; the historic center is very pleasant, home to the nightlife, full of shops, shops and clubs, while it is particularly enjoyable to walk in the romantic area of the seafront. Obviously, here are the most beautiful beaches. In Ischia Porto there is the seat of the town hall and the valuable church of Sant'Antonio with the adjoining Antoniniana library. Ischia Ponte is watched over by the castle, built in 1438, used for the most varied functions and gradually abandoned to be finally partially destroyed. It has interesting churches among which that of the Holy Spirit and the beautiful Cathedral of the Assumption, built in the thirteenth century and then renovated several times, deserve mention. The interior is valuable with interesting works including the baptismal font, the wooden Crucifix and various paintings.
