One of the most characteristic trails of the Siusi Alps is certainly the so-called witches trail, which leads to the sulfur springs. To get here you must first take the cable car and then opt for a stretch on foot (the Hans and Paula Steger route) or by bus. In both cases, you reach the Malga Tirler, from where the witches' trail begins. A legend says that good witches lived in the woods, who helped the people of the village. One day, however, the men violated the pact they had made with the witches, becoming too curious and trespassing into the magical forest. The witches then changed the crystalline waters into sulphurous waters, which still have beneficial properties. Today, however, there is still a little witch called Curadina who leads hikers to the springs. The path is sensorial, it often has to be found because it is voluntarily not clearly marked. In fact, we want to respect the nature of the place, pushing the visitor and rediscovering contact with the surrounding environment.
