Beautiful Middle Ages in Puglia: the castles as they once were

A few years ago a group of professionals had an idea, which has developed over time to become an initiative repeated several times, always with great success. Bel Medioevo di Puglia is an itinerary that crosses 11 castles, by the most famous and those mistakenly considered secondary, in order to make them discover just as they were originally. The guided tours not only illustrate the artistic and architectural aspects of the buildings, but also make use of actors and figures who show how people used to live in the past. Arts and crafts are thus re-proposed, such as that of the weaver, recreating a medieval atmosphere. The initiative is at the same time of an editorial nature. In fact, an art book has been published that describes the castles, and a map guide that the tourist can use for visits. The audience for which the route was mainly designed is that of the youngest and schools. The participating castles are those of Bari, Trani, Barletta and Andria (Castel del Monte), Sannicandro, Bitritto, Bitonto and Balsignano.
