The tableaux vivants.

Where: modigliana
(Modigliana)
Genre: events    folklore

The inhabitants wear nineteenth-century costumes at the party, to reproduce the scenes from the paintings of Silvestro Lega, a local painter. It is a great opportunity to visit the village that was the domain of the Guidi Counts. Located in the Tramazzo Valley, it is known for the Rocca dei Guidi, or Roccaccia. To visit it, you can access it from the Tribuna and from Piazza Mazzini, which leads to the two bell towers and to the aedicule with the statue of the Madonna. From the arched door we enter Piazza Pretorio, where the 14th century Palazzo Pretorio is located, which was the seat of the Podestà until 1377 and where the Silvestro Lega Art Gallery is located. In the same square we visit the Cathedral of Santo Stefano and above all the crypt which is the original nucleus and dates back to 892. During the party we will be able to taste the famous tortelli and really feel part of a painting. On the other hand, who has never wanted to enter a painting? The visceral love for the painter of the city kept his memory alive, and what he left lives on, every year for everyone.
