Vallico factories

Fabbriche di Vallico is located in the Garfagna area, near the Turrite Cava. The history of the village began with the foundation of a small hermitage belonging to the order of Sant'Agostino dedicated to San Giorgio and San Galgano in 1214. At the beginning of the fourteenth century with the arrival in the area of some Bergamo blacksmiths, workshops dedicated to the manufacture of nails, tools and much other material. The name of the city also derives from the activity of iron working. In the inhabited center there is the church of San Giacomo Apostolo where inside there is a reproduction of the grottoes of Lourdes. Inside the village there are several palaces of the fifteenth century and various testimonies of the medieval period such as the ancient bridge that joins the two banks of the stream. The path of the wolf extends along 11 km on the territory of Fabbriche di Vallico, so named for the presence, residual today, of wolves. Along the path it is possible to walk in a fairytale forest rich in flora.
