The splendid Soave and its excellent wine

Where: soave
(Soave)
Genre: culture

Soave is a small town in the province of Verona and is considered one of the most beautiful and welcoming villages in Italy. In ancient times the town was a very important military strategic point and proof of this are the 24 towers and the 3 concentric walls that constitute it. A place of great historical interest is the Soave Castle which, thanks to its elevated position, in the past allowed the identification of enemies even at a great distance. The main entrance of the structure is protected by the Tower of San Giorgio and equipped with a drawbridge. Going past the three internal courtyards, you reach the imposing Keep which in ancient times served as a prison and a place of torture. A few meters from it is the Casa del Capitano from which you can enjoy an extraordinary view of the city. In Piazza Antenna there is the magnificent Palazzo di Giustizia built by Cansignorio della Scala. Equally beautiful are the Palazzo Cavalli with its Gothic-Venetian style and the Palazzo Scaligero which currently houses the Town Hall. Also worth a visit is the Church of San Lorenzo Martire which houses precious frescoes inside. The town's economy is mainly based on viticulture and the production of the fine local wine. In this regard, interesting excursions are also organized along the Soave Wine Roads where it is possible to taste this excellent product.
