It is a very large place of worship which is accessed by a wonderful staircase, a symbol of the city throughout the world. Avola is a town near Noto, which is also very famous and a place of mainly seaside tourism. Its economy is based on agriculture and craftsmanship with typical products such as wine, Nero d'Avola, the typical almond of the place called Pizzuta d'Avola and lemons. There is a long tradition, even pastry-making linked to these ingredients. Here the most important place of worship is the mother church dedicated to San Nicolò.
