In the surroundings of Preci, climbing a little up the mountains, there is a very suggestive place that can only be reached after a long walk. This is the hermitage of San Fiorenzo, where according to tradition this holy man stayed. Legend has it that Fiorenzo was a hermit of few pretensions. He lived alone and had a few sheep for his sustenance. But one day he felt lonely, so he prayed to God to send him a brother. Soon he found a brown bear cub, and realized that God had answered his prayer. He took the bear with him and the bear became his companion and helper. He took sheep to graze and helped San Fiorenzo in everything. However, there were those who envied the holiness of man, and to wound him they killed the bear. After this hard blow, the saint left the hermitage and moved to Spoleto, where he died. Today inside the hermitage there is still a small chapel, where a bell from 1468 is deposited. The bell does not ring because it has been welded; the one raised on the small bell tower is from the modern era.
