Excursion to the Curone Park

Where: montevecchia
(Parco del Curone)
Genre: nature

Montevecchia is a town of 2700 inhabitants which is located within the Curone Park, in the province of Lecco. This rural area is very suitable for hiking enthusiasts. An interesting itinerary to follow is described below. It starts from the foot of the hill and crosses the Path of Olives until you reach the upper part of the town. Here is the splendid Sanctuary of the Beata Vergine del Carmelo which is accessed via a staircase of 180 steps. Continue crossing the path that circulates around the building called Via Crucis due to the presence of eighteenth-century sculptures. Then you enter the heart of the Curone Park and cross woods and meadows to reach the Collinetta dei Cipressi. Continue along the path of the same name where you can enjoy very beautiful viewpoints. Then go down to the La Costa farm and continue to Cascina Galbusera Nera. You then arrive at the Galbusera Bianca Oasis and then finish the path at the Cascina Ca'del Soldato, home to a small museum.
