Christmas is coming and the markets are inaugurated in Lagundo

Lagundo is a town of about 5000 inhabitants located not far from Merano, and which is always pleasant to visit, but especially at Christmas. In fact, during the Advent period, both in Merano and Lagundo, suggestive markets are held. The two locations are connected by a convenient train. In Lagundo the stalls, housed in the typical wooden houses, clutter the church square between scents and flavors, in a joyful and relaxed atmosphere. There are exhibitors who sell local food and wine products, and many who instead deal with crafts. There are objects in wood, felt, ceramic and terracotta. Of course there is no shortage of gift ideas and Christmas decorations. Those who want to take a ride in the surroundings can take advantage of the carriage. When evening falls, the local ladies get busy, lighting the wood stoves, to prepare some traditional recipes. Excellent is the Apfelschmarren, a sweet omelette made with apples, to accompany a hot mulled wine.
