Siderno: one of the pearls of the Costa dei Gelsomini

Siderno is a town on the Calabrian coast, divided into two distinct areas: a Siderno Superiore which corresponds to the old part and the historic center, and a Siderno Marina which thins out towards the Costa dei Gelsomini, also called Locride, that is this area of the Calabrian coast. The place is therefore very popular in summer for seaside tourism. The beaches and the promenade are filled with tourists and locals, bars and pizzerias enliven the town until late at night. Corso della Repubblica is the main street of Siderno Marina, overlooked by commercial activities, the church of Santa Maria di Portosalvo and Villa Albanese. This church is one of the major places of worship in the country decorated with precious frescoes and sculptures, some signed by the artist Giuseppe Correale. The church is also the fulcrum of the procession and the religious festival that is held every year, attracting tourists and faithful even from nearby places. A moment not only linked to religion, but also to feel united and have fun together in the country with stalls, activities for children and food stands.
