The village of Posada

Where: posada
(Posada)
Genre: culture

Posada is a small town of 3000 inhabitants located on the eastern coast of Sardinia, in the province of Nuoro. The town has the same urban structure since 1200 and consists of narrow streets that climb the rock where the magnificent Castle is located. Among the most important religious buildings of the town we find the Parish Church dedicated to Sant'Antonio Abate and the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary. The Castle in ancient times had military purposes and thanks to its position it made it possible to identify possible enemies. Currently, however, from here you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside and the sea. Over the years the town has expanded along the plain but most of the elderly have decided to stay in the historic center of the town. The municipality of Posada also participated in the competition 'The most beautiful village in Italy' and won first place for its beaches which were elected the most beautiful and cleanest in our country.
