Two pearls of the external Giudicarie valley: the castle of Stenico and the Terme di Comano

Symbol of the power of the bishops of Trento, the castle of Stenico was a very important place for the government of the Giudicarie, while today it is a panoramic place of great charm. The building has medieval origins, while the prince bishops remodeled and expanded it to be the summer residence and control tower of the captain of the Giudicarie, or a personality who was in charge of administering the place. While the external appearance is austere like all medieval buildings, the internal part is elegantly decorated with frescoes and sculptures. Another well-known attraction of the Giudicarie valley are the Comano Baths. The thermal waters have been famous for their healing properties for centuries, especially for skin diseases. The spa is located in the lush Adamello Brenta park, which allows the visitor to discover the territory and its naturalistic beauties, as well as the many typical gastronomic products. Walks, excursions and sports activities in nature complete the tourist offer of the area.
