Where Divisionism lived.

Where: tortona
(Tortona)
Genre: culture

The divisionist pictorial current was born at the end of the 19th century and was joined by Turin painters including Pellizza da Volpedo, Barabino's master. Their paintings are superfine dots of color that interact with each other, outlining precise expressions, with soft edges. From the infinitesimal care of the technique a soul, a face or a pain emerges, a dip in the feelings composed by the thousand faces of each of us. The house is managed by the Museum of Divisionism of Tortona and is open and free on the first Sunday of the month from 3.00 pm to 7.00 pm, or by reservation. It is set up by reconstructing the artist's vision, realistic and attentive to social problems. His adventurous life is narrated in the rooms of the rooms, where we find the call to arms in 1915, the return to painting in 1920 and the artistically prolific journey to Venezuela in 1929. Barabino's social conduct was flawless even when he was expelled from the socialist party for having given assistance to the families of the men recalled to arms. The visit to his home is full of his presence that can be glimpsed in the hanging paintings, where there is always a light to be seen.
