The living nativity scene in Torrice

Where: torrice
(Torrice)
Genre: events

The tradition of staging the nativity of Jesus with the living nativity scene in Torrice is relatively recent and has already undergone some small changes. The first was that relating to the path to follow, which from the third edition includes the departure from Piazza San Rocco to arrive at the top of the village, under the bell tower, where the hut with the Holy Family is located. The living nativity scene takes place in two editions, the first on Boxing Day and the second on the Sunday after Christmas. Its name is 'Adeste Fidelis Turricis' and foresees the presence of over 200 extras who play various roles. Through the streets of the town you can thus see the ancient crafts revived, such as the blacksmith or the knife grinder. There are women who card wool and many poultry that can be approached by children. There are also environments that recall episodes from the Gospel, for example the palace of Herod or that of the Sanhedrin. In the evening to close the nativity scene there is a concert with Christmas music, waiting for the second day. Admission is free.
