The magic of Christmas is special in Bolzano

Bolzano is a pleasant city to visit throughout the year, but there is no denying how it has a special appeal during the Christmas period. Starting from the end of November and until the feast of the Epiphany, on January 6, the squares of the center are occupied by the wooden houses of the Christmas markets. The day the stalls are inaugurated, the more than 1300 lights of the tree that is set up in Piazza Walther are also turned on. The city is transformed, and there is not only the market to animate it but also many events and initiatives that change year after year. A special attention is always reserved for children, for the little ones, to whom exhibitions of vintage toys are dedicated in which antique and very prestigious pieces are exhibited. In recent years, enormous strides have been made towards the sustainability of the event, for example by eliminating plastic and using only glass bottles.
